Free launch: build better WordPress sites with CAFE
Cybo Advanced Field Engine (CAFE) is now available, and it is free. CAFE adds custom fields to WordPress with a visual field builder, so you can turn any page, post or custom post type into structured, easy-to-edit content and build attractive websites without fighting the editor.
Documentation: https://www.cybowebtechnologies.com/cafe/
Everything about CAFE is there, from installation and the Quick Start to every field type and the developer API.
Why CAFE is so helpful for WordPress sites
- A visual field builder with drag and drop, tabs, field widths and location rules.
- 37 field types: text, choice, date, media, relationship and layout fields, including repeating Collections and flexible Section Builders.
- Fields for posts, pages, custom post types, terms, users and site-wide Settings Pages.
- Front-end forms built from your field groups, with checks and saving included.
- Appearance settings to match your brand: colours, corners, spacing and tab styles.
- A simple PHP API:
cafe_get_field( 'hero_title' ).
Fast by design
- Values are stored in CAFE's own typed tables, not in wp_postmeta.
- All values of a post, term or user load with one query and are cached.
- Repeating content and galleries are stored as rows, never as serialized arrays.
Works with the plugins you already use
- Elementor: CAFE Dynamic Tags for text, URL, image, gallery, number and colour controls, plus a CAFE Form widget.
- Gravity Forms: save answers into CAFE fields, fill choices from CAFE and use
{cafe:field_name}merge tags. - WPML: a translation setting per field, with field names that never change between languages.
Moving from ACF?
The built-in Migration wizard moves field groups and values from Advanced Custom Fields step by step, with a preview and dry run before anything is imported. See the ACF migration guide.
