Overview
WordPress runs a huge share of the web, and a lot of the sites built on it have the same problems. A heavy theme bought for its demo. A page builder that adds a megabyte to every page. Twenty plugins doing jobs three could handle. It all works on launch day, then slowly gets harder and slower to change.
We build WordPress sites the other way round. We start with what your editors need to do each week and what the site has to load on a mid-range phone, then write the theme and the few plugins that job actually needs. Your team keeps the WordPress admin they already know, without the weight that usually comes with it.

What we build
- Custom themes. Built from your design on the block editor, so editors can put new pages together from approved blocks without breaking the layout. No bundled sliders or demo content you will never use.
- Custom plugins. Booking forms, member areas, product configurators, CRM and ERP sync. If a plugin from the directory does the job well, we use it. If not, we write one that does only what you need.
- Headless WordPress. WordPress as the editing tool, with a separate front end on Next.js or similar when the site needs to behave more like an app. Worth it for some projects and overkill for most. We will tell you which one yours is.
- Migrations. Moving from Wix, Squarespace, Joomla or an old custom CMS, with redirects mapped page by page so you keep the rankings you have earned.
- Multilingual and multisite setups for businesses running several brands, regions or languages from one install.
How we keep it fast
Speed gets decided while the site is being built. A caching plugin added at the end can only hide so much. On every build we:
- Load scripts and styles only on the pages that use them.
- Serve images as WebP at the size they are shown, and lazy load anything below the fold.
- Keep the plugin list short and check what each one adds to the front end.
- Test Core Web Vitals on a mobile profile before launch, not just on a fast office connection.
Already have a slow WordPress site? Our performance optimization service fixes it without a full rebuild.
Security and upkeep
Most hacked WordPress sites get in through outdated plugins or weak admin logins. We turn on automatic minor updates, limit login attempts, require strong passwords or two-factor login for admins, and keep backups off the server. After launch you can look after the site yourselves or hand it to our maintenance and support team.
What you get
- A theme and plugins written for your site, in a Git repository you own.
- An editing setup your team can use after a one-hour walkthrough.
- Technical SEO in place from day one: clean URLs, schema markup, an XML sitemap and redirects.
- A staging copy of the site for testing changes before they go live.
- Short written notes for both editors and developers.
Getting started
Send us your current site, or a short note about the one you want. We will tell you whether WordPress is the right fit and give you a rough scope and price range. If a custom build would suit you better, we will say that too. Get in touch.
