Website Performance Optimization

We find out why your site is slow and fix it: Core Web Vitals, PageSpeed scores, server response and the load time your visitors actually feel on their phones.

Overview

A slow site costs you twice. Visitors leave before the page appears, and Google counts page experience when it ranks results, so fewer people arrive in the first place. Most slow sites are not slow for one big reason. It is usually a pile of small ones: oversized images, scripts nobody remembers adding, a theme loading every feature on every page, and a server that takes a second to start replying.

We work through that pile in order of impact and measure each change, so you can see exactly what each fix bought you. It is the same process we use on our own website.

Website Performance Optimization

What we fix

  • Core Web Vitals. Largest Contentful Paint, Interaction to Next Paint and Cumulative Layout Shift, checked in lab tests and in your real-user data from Google Search Console.
  • Images and media. Converting to WebP or AVIF, serving the right size for each screen, lazy loading below the fold, and keeping background video off mobile data.
  • JavaScript and CSS. Removing unused code, deferring what the first view does not need, and replacing heavy libraries that are only there for a small effect.
  • Third-party scripts. Analytics, chat widgets, ad pixels and tag managers set to load once the page is usable, with your tracking still working.
  • Fonts. Self-hosting, subsetting and preloading, so text shows straight away and does not jump when the font arrives.
  • Server and database. Caching, slow query fixes, PHP upgrades, CDN setup, and hosting advice when the server itself is the bottleneck.

How it works

  1. Audit. We test your key pages on mobile and desktop, read your Search Console data and list every issue with its likely impact.
  2. Agree the plan. You see the list and the expected gains before any work starts. Quick wins go first.
  3. Fix and measure. Each change is tried on a staging copy and measured before and after, so nothing breaks your forms, checkout or tracking.
  4. Report. You get before and after numbers for each page, plus a short note on keeping the site fast as new content goes up.

Platforms we work on

Most of our speed work is on WordPress and WooCommerce, where page builders and plugins are the usual cause. We also work on Laravel, CodeIgniter, React and Next.js apps and custom PHP sites. If a site is too far gone to fix cheaply, we will say so and explain what a rebuild would involve instead.

What you get

  • A faster site, with before and after PageSpeed and Core Web Vitals numbers for every page we worked on.
  • A written list of what we changed and why.
  • Forms, checkout and analytics checked and working after the changes.
  • Simple guidance for your team on images, plugins and scripts, so the gains last.

Getting started

Send us your URL and the pages that matter most, usually the home page, a key service or product page, and checkout. We will run a first check and tell you what is slowing it down and roughly what fixing it would take. Ask for a speed check.
